First Form Latin, Year 2 for February 28th
This week complete workbook exercises for Lesson XXIX. Make note of any questions you may have from the exercises, and we will go over them in class. Your quiz for this Friday will be the vocabulary from Lesson XXIX, page 74 of the textbook. You must give the complete dictionary form of the verbs as given in the list on page 74. Pater Noster Qui es in caelis, sanctificetur Nomen Tuum (This is your bonus.) Don’t forget to bring me your (signed by parent) quiz from last week.

Shurley English 6 for February 21st
For this week, finish Chapter 20, Lessons 1-4. We did extra work in this chapter on our last meeting, so hopefully, this will be a lighter week for you. There is NO composition assignment this week!

First Form Latin, Year 2 for February 21st
This week we start Unit V, Lesson XXIX! This is the last unit of First Form Latin!!! Stay the course and finish well. This week, start working on the workbook exercises for Lesson XXIX. For the quiz memorize, the second conjugation, present tense chart on page 74 of the textbook and the Latin saying. You should recognize the second verb in the saying (Insert smile here!) Also, on your quiz will be the first conjugation, present tense chart from Lesson I on page 10. With every new part of second conjugation we learn, we will be reviewing its first conjugation counterpart. And remember, noli deficere! Shurley English 6 for February 7th
Finish Chapter 19, Lessons 1-4. For composition, rewrite the fable from Lesson 2, “The Ant and the Grasshopper.” Be sure to include your three figures of description (FOD): anemographia, dendrographia, & ethopoeia. Don’t forget to underline your FODs and label them at the end of their sentence. Everyone is doing a great job on their compositions. Keep up the good work!

First Form Latin, Year 2 for February 7th
We are on Lesson XXVIII. This is a review lesson for Units III & IV. Start the workbook exercises this week; they will be due on the 21st. This Friday’s quiz will cover the charts on page 70 and the 1st column of vocabulary on page 71. For the bonus, tell me in Roman numerals what 2 Super Bowls have been won by the Kansas City Chiefs.

Shurley English 6 for January 31st
This week complete Chapter 18, Lessons 1-4. Everyone did a great job in class on Friday, and I am especially pleased with the Fable rewrites. For composition this week, read “The Ant and the Grasshopper” and complete “Three Plot Components” and Variations: Part 1. We will continue with the lesson in class on Friday.
