    Complete chapter 28 in Shurley English. Study lessons 1-3, but no written practices are due except for vocabulary list 2. Take chapter 28 test. For composition: Begin lesson 9, “The Thirsty Pigeon.” Complete the Three Plot Components, Variation: Part I, and Outline.

    Shurley English 6 for April 12th

    Apparently, my brain is already on summer vacation! I’m sorry that I’m posting your assignments so late!  Study Chapter 27, but your only written assignment for this chapter is the vocabulary and the test. For composition, finish Lesson 8, “The Dove and the Ant,” paraphrases and final draft. Also, there will be a matching quiz on ALL Figures of Description (FOD’s) in Lessons 1-8 on Friday. You all are doing great; finish well!

    Science Fair I am so proud of everyone’s accomplishments in our Science Fair! You all did awesome! Congratulations on a job well done! Please hang on to your boards. I need to check with the end-of-the-year program coordinator to see if there will be room to display all of them. I know there were some of our families who couldn’t make it to the science fair. So this would give them an opportunity to see the displays. If space is an issue for the end-of-the-year program, we may display the top three from each age category.     Science Fair – THIS FRIDAY!   For this week: 1. Finish the board if that hasn’t been completed. 2. Prepare and practice your presentation for the judges. In class Friday, we discussed some guidelines for the presentation. It would be helpful to review this sheet in their folder. I tried to stress a few things . . . This is a short presentation. Do not retell everything you did. Just the highlights. Do not introduce yourself (you’ll be given a number). As you are speaking, refer to and point to your board and display.
