Lingua Latina for August 25th
Well done to all my discipuli latini (Latin students} on your first day of class! You were very respectful and worked hard. Therefore, your homework load is lighter! In class we worked on parts of lesson 2-4. Review this material and finish all assignments we didn’t get to in class. Even if you can do this easily all in one day, try to spend a little time each day reviewing the grammar concepts and vocabulary. It is MUCH BETTER to practice your Latin EVERYDAY! Latina Christiana II for May 5th
Final exam this Friday!!! What to know: The review material on page 112. Make sure you know your vocabulary and sayings from English to Latin. For a vocabulary word that is a noun, you should know the nominative and genitive form, as well as its gender and declension. ***On the test in the vocabulary section, “heart” is written. You must write “cor, cordis n.” Know the endings for the 3rd, 4th, and 5th declensions. Be able to decline flumen, portus, and res. Lastly, don’t forget to review your portion of John 1:1-5 for the end of the year program! Please call or text me if you have any questions.

We are spending 2 weeks to great ready for the Unit 5 Test. So for homework, please study, study, study the Latin sayings, vocabulary, and grammar concepts on page 112 of your book. There is no actual work in the book this week; we will finish that this Friday. For the Test, students should know the sayings and vocabulary from English to Latin. This is opposite of the way the quizzes ask for the terms (and a little harder.) Latina Christiana II for April 21st
Finish Lesson 25. This is our last “new” lesson of the year! We will be reviewing after this!!! Quiz for Friday: Know the lesson 25 Latin saying and vocabulary. Also, be able to decline mens clara. Mens, mentis is a 3rd declension feminine noun. So, the adjective clara must be declines with the feminine endings. By the way, mens clara means bright or clear mind or understanding!
