Shurley English 6 for November 9th
Please complete Chapter 11, Lesson 1 skill and practice time on page TM 193 and 196-197, practice sentences, vocabulary list 2, and tests 11a & 11b. We started our classical writing journey on Friday. Please review the definitions for recognition, suffering, and reversal. Finish variations part 1 on pages 10-11. We will continue this lesson on Friday.

Shurley English 6 for September 21st
I am so please with this terrific group of students. They are bright and eager to learn! Thanks goes out to Lydia who shared her “Preposition help sheet,” and Jack who helped keep us on schedule! This week, complete Chapter 5, including vocabulary set 2, practice sentences, test 5 (I will take up tests 4 & 5 this week), your extra credit Daily Grams, and the writing assignment. There are 2 paragraphs this week, one in first person and one in third person. Special note for writing assignment. Do not use the same adjective or verb more than once in one paragraph. Land Animals
Practice your part for the program. Some are still having to think about what they are going to say. I sent home the extra pages from the book that we did not have time for. These are totally optional, for those who like filling them out. They can bring them Friday to add to the Science binder. We’ve had a great year! I have so enjoyed your children. Shurley English 6 for May 4th
We did a great deal of work on our compositions in class last Friday. Therefore, the rough draft is due on “The Dove and the Ant” (Lesson 8) this Friday. We are finished with the work in Shurley English 6, since we are taking our composition from our Classical Composition books.

Land Animals
Gastropods and Worms Please begin reading our last chapter! And, of course, since it’s spring, go out and find some worms to bring to class Friday!! Fun!! Fun!! We’ll be comparing our worms to see if we all found the same kind or different kinds. End of the Year Program On Friday, we discussed the end-of-the-year program. Each student needs to be prepared to say 2-5 sentences: “One of my favorite animals we learned about is the _________. Finish Chapter 7 Pensa A & B in Lingua Latina. Do the first 6 questions of Pensum C. Quiz for Friday. Lingua Latina, Chapter 7 vocabulary inest to the end. Also, there will be true/false questions on your Chapter 7 notes (2nd page only).

Shurley English 6 for February 16th
Finish Shurley English 6, Chapter 20. Don’t forget to bring your completed tests from 19 and 29 on Friday. We started Classical Composition Lesson 4, the Hare and the Tortoise, in class Friday. For this Friday do sections Variations 1 and Variations 2. We will do the outline together in class. Nate – we did the Three Component Parts in class Friday.

Shurley English 6 for November 17th
Happy almost Thanksgiving! Please finish Chapter 12, lessons 2-5 (practice sentences, vocabulary list 2, test & the 5 paragraph essay). You only have one essay this week (I will almost never assign two essays, but you are welcome to do extra if you like!) Please take the 3 paragraph persuasive essay you wrote last week and just expand it to a 5 paragraph essay using Reference 32 on page 26 of the workbook. Also, use Reference 35 on page 29 to edit your paper. I would like to see both your unedited copy and your edited copy, so please bring both.
