Happy almost Thanksgiving! Read Chapter III in Latin, do not actively translate.  Take your time and read slowly. Finish Lingua Latina, Chapter III, Pensa A, B & C.  Remember to use complete sentences! Quiz for Friday:  Chapter III Grammar Sheet, sections “Personal Endings of Verbs” and “Personal Pronouns.” Also, Chapter III Vocabulary, audit through persona.

Finish Chapter 11, Lessons 2-5. (Vocabulary List #2, Practice Sentences, Test, and Three Point Essay) Essay:  Three Paragraph Persuasive Essay. Follow Reference 38 on page 28 in the student workbook.  I’m looking forward to reading these!

Finish translating Lingua Latina, Chapter III. NO pensa this week. Study Visual Latin, Lesson 19 and complete 19B. Quiz for Friday:  1st and 2nd Personal Pronoun Charts on VL page 98.  I’ll give you the English; you’ll give me the Latin.

We completed lesson 1 and went over lesson 5 of chapter 10 in class on Friday. Please complete at home lessons 2-5 which includes list 2 vocabulary, practice sentences, chapter test, and 5-paragraph essay.  References 31 and 32 beginning on page 25 of the student workbook are excellent guides to follow for the 5-paragraph essay. Keep up the good work!  

Re-read Lingua Latina, Chapter II. Finish Pensa A, B, & C. Study for LL, Chapter 2B Quiz. (second half of vocabulary and rest of grammar sheet) That is it for this week!!!

Congratulation on everyone earning 5 bonus points on next week’s quiz! Translate all of Lingua Latina, Chapter 2 through the grammar section.  No pensa this week! Quiz for Friday:  The first half of Chapter 2 vocabulary (I’ll give the Latin.) and the first half of Chapter 2 grammar sheets.  We marked what would be covered on the quiz last Friday. Make sure you mark any problems you had with the translation, so we can address those in class.

Finish Chapter 9 as usual. This week we began our three paragraph essay.  Reference 26 on page 20 is a step-by-step guide to writing this essay. I’m looking forward to reading your papers this Friday!

Finish Chapter 8 the way you usually finish your work. For your writing assignment this week, I let you keep your writing assignment from last week.  I would like you to improve the three “I like this because . . .” sentences.  By improve, we talked about adding interesting adjectives, informative adverbs, and substituting exciting verbs. Welcome to the 2nd quarter of our school year!

Finish Visual Latin Lesson 18. Read Lingua Latina Chapter 1 slowly in Latin trying to understand as you go without actually translating word for word.  Reading aloud is very helpful. Finish LL Ch 1 Pensa A, B, & C Quiz for Friday:  Grammar from the Chapter 1 handout I gave you, sections adjectives to the end.  Also, Chapter 1 vocabulary again :-).  I will give you the Latin, and you will give me the English.

Welcome to October! We finished Chapter 7, Lesson 1 in class and wrote outlines for our paragraphs in Lesson 5. For Friday, please complete Lessons 2-5, including List #2 of the vocabulary, Ch. 7 test, and the essay on “My Three Favorite Carnival Rides.”
