Shurley Grammar 6 for August 24th

I am thrilled with my grammar/composition students!  We had a great discussion on long-term and short-term goals. This week’s assignment is light; enjoy it! Do vocabulary list 2 following the 6-step vocabulary plan in reference 2 on page 9. I do not require journal writing, but it is a good practice to learn to express your thoughts on paper. Complete ch. 1, lesson 5 practice on page 62 of your book. Review reference 4 on page 11. No test or writing assignment this week.  Maybe you’ll have time to read a good book!  If you do, let me know 😉 P.S. Make sure you bring your binders, paper, pencils or…

    Latina Christiana

We had a great first class! I am pleased to be teaching Mary, Ivy, and Roman this year! We completed the workbook pages for lesson 1 in class, but please quiz your students on the vocabulary, the Latin saying, the grammar forms, and the exercises on the facing page daily.  They have 3 vocabulary/grammar drill sheets to complete on 3 separate days; although, not every section of the drill sheet is used this time.  Please ignore the noun and adjective sections. There will be a quiz on Friday. They will have 10-15 minutes to complete it.  If they don’t finish, they may take it home to complete under your supervision. …

Practice your part for the program. Some are still having to think about what they are going to say. I sent home the extra pages from the book that we did not have time for. These are totally optional, for those who like filling them out. They can bring them Friday to add to the Science binder. We’ve had a great year! I have so enjoyed your children. Have a wonderful summer! Kristen

    Land Animals

For this week, finish reading the Gastropods and Worms chapter. Also, please practice your parts for the program. This past Friday, there were a few who didn’t know what they were going to say. Most could tell me a couple sentences on the spot. However, it would be better to be fully prepared on that day, so there’s not stalling to think of something to say. The syllabus says there’s a field trip this Friday, but there is not. That field trip was the Celebrate Wildlife Day at the Natchez Trace that got moved up. Sorry for any confusion.
