    I am thrilled with my grammar/composition students!  We had a great discussion on long-term and short-term goals. This week’s assignment is light; enjoy it! Do vocabulary list 2 following the 6-step vocabulary plan in reference 2 on page 9. I do not require journal writing, but it is a good practice to learn to express your thoughts on paper. Complete ch. 1, lesson 5 practice on page 62 of your book. Review reference 4 on page 11.     We had a great first class! I am pleased to be teaching Mary, Ivy, and Roman this year! We completed the workbook pages for lesson 1 in class, but please quiz your students on the vocabulary, the Latin saying, the grammar forms, and the exercises on the facing page daily.  They have 3 vocabulary/grammar drill sheets to complete on 3 separate days; although, not every section of the drill sheet is used this time.  Please ignore the noun and adjective sections.     For this week, finish reading the Gastropods and Worms chapter. Also, please practice your parts for the program. This past Friday, there were a few who didn’t know what they were going to say. Most could tell me a couple sentences on the spot. However, it would be better to be fully prepared on that day, so there’s not stalling to think of something to say. The syllabus says there’s a field trip this Friday, but there is not. That field trip was the Celebrate Wildlife Day at the Natchez Trace that got moved up. Sorry for any confusion.
