    Welcome to October and cooler weather (maybe)! Last Friday we studied Chapter 7, Lessons 1 & 5. Please complete Lessons 2-5 including practice sentences, vocabulary, test 7, writing assignment, and Daily Grams. I have enjoyed seeing how you have stretched your imaginations and vocabulary as you strive to vary your essays.  Keep up the good work and continue to look for ways to improve your sentences. Varying the word order is another way to improve your essays, such as starting a few sentences with an adverb or prepositional phrase.     Latina Christiana for October 5th

    Welcome to October and cooler weather! This week you will take Test 1 over Lessons 1-5. Also, last Friday we studied Lesson 6. Finish Lesson 6 workbook pages and study for the quiz Friday. This lesson includes numbers 1-10, 100, and 1,000, as well as the very important verb “I am” sum. Show your parents our Latin saying on the quarters I gave you. This Friday, Mrs. Summer Hamblin will be subbing for me because I will be at a wedding in Natchez.  Mrs. Hamblin is a great teacher, so you will be in good hands!

    Latina Christiana for September 28th

    This week is Review Lesson 1 which covers lessons 1-5.  Please, complete the lesson and study for the unit test.  Roman and Ivy will be given a test to take home and complete covering the first 5 chapters on Friday the 28th. The test covers all previous vocabulary, Latin sayings, translating verbs with the various pronoun endings, derivatives, and filling in grammar boxes from the grammar forms in each lesson.     I am so please with  this terrific group of students. They are bright and eager to learn!  Thanks goes out to Lydia who shared her “Preposition help sheet,” and Jack who helped keep us on schedule! This week, complete Chapter 5, including vocabulary set 2, practice sentences, test 5 (I will take up tests 4 & 5 this week),  your extra credit Daily Grams, and the writing assignment.  There are 2 paragraphs this week, one in first person and one in third person.  Special note for writing assignment.  Do not use the same adjective or verb more than once in one paragraph.  I know this will stretch you a little,…
