Study for Grammar Forms Quiz:  1st, 2nd, & 3rd declension noun endings and how to use them.  And . . . 1st conjugation verb endings and how to use them. Example:  1st declension endings:  a, ae, ae, am, a, ae, arum, is, as, is.  Noun using it:  mensa, mensae, mensae, mensam, mensa, mensae, mensarum, mensis, mensas, mensis.  1st conjugation endings:  o, s, t, mus, tis, nt.  Verb using it:  voco, vocas, vocat, vocamus, vocatis, vocant.

Finish reading/translating chapter 3. Vocabulary quiz for Friday will cover words scaena, ae (f) through verbum, i (n). No pensa this week!

Finish lesson 3 worksheets. Review and know everything on page 12 for Friday’s quiz.  You will be asked to decline a masculine and a neuter noun on the quiz. Hang in there with these review lessons.  I know it’s a lot to cover!

Sept. 20, 2017 NOTE: Given the amount of work in all the section reviews as well as the questions about the various parts of the Constitution, we will NOT require that students complete anything but the Chapter Review questions this week. Your child should have the Test for Chapter 1 in his/her notebook.  I recommend taking it before starting the next chapter.  But it’s up to you.  You may also decide if you would like it to be open book or not.  I didn’t realize we had so many with learning disabilities and/or difficulty spelling.  I will try to make the future tests include more multiple choice, or at least have a word bank.  Don’t stress if this one seems too hard for your child.  Please turn in the tests on Friday.  This will keep us moving along at a good pace. Please finish the workbook pages for Lesson 2. There will be a quiz over everything on page 8 in your book next Friday. Show your parents or siblings how you can form Latin sentences with direct objects. Remember to put the direct object into the accusative case, and that the word order for Latin sentences is subject, direct object, verb. Call me if you have any questions or problems.

Hi Parents! My goal for this class is to take a topic covered in the reading and do a craft with them.  I will read excerpts to them and ask them questions about the reading as we do the crafts.  Occasionally I have an experiment for them to do at home because it is not feasible for us to do in the classroom.  If the assignment comes from the notebook, I will either copy it or take a photo of it with my phone and text it to you.  I did not assign any other work except for a project later in the year for them to do at home.…
