    Latina Christiana II for December 2nd

    Welcome to December! Please complete Lesson XII except exercise B on page 54.  We will do that in class. As you memorize your vocabulary words, remember to memorized ALL four principal parts.  It is not enough any more to only know the first part such as:  voco means I call.  You must know:  voco, vocare, vocavi, vocatus.  These are the four principal parts of voco.  They translate:  I call, to call (infinitive), I called, have called.  All the verbs in this lesson are 1st conjugation verbs and follow this pattern, except the irregular verbs “do” and “sto.”  They must be memorized individually. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!

    Latina Christiana II for November 18th

    Happy almost Thanksgiving Break! For Friday please finish Lesson XI.  These is no new vocabulary, but review everyday the present, imperfect, and future forms of “to be” or “sum.”  You could also review past vocabulary by playing games on the quizlet site. Try to complete exercise B on page 50.  If you can’t quite get it, at least know the vocabulary for each sentence.  We did the first four in class.

    Lingua Latina II for November 11th

    Happy Veterans’ Day this coming Friday! Finish Capitulum VII, Pensum B.  If you can’t figure out what a question is asking, please shoot  me a text. Your quiz for Friday is the “Hic, Haec, Hoc” chart I handed out it class.  Claire, Josie Kate has yours.  Let me know if you don’t get yours.  Know this chart inside, outside, upside, downside, and all-around side for Friday.  You need to be able to see this chart in your head and KNOW what each of the terms means.     Latina Christiana II for November 11th

    Happy Veterans’ Day for November 11th! We are only doing Review Lesson II for this week.  We did quite a bit of the workbook in class.  You just need to finish page 47 and study, study, study page 46.  There will be a test on the information on page 46 in class Friday. I have put all the terms from this unit on a separate Quizlet lesson.  I have sent the link via email to your parents.

    Finish Lesson 10. For Drill B, page 44, try to do the first 5 on your own. Remember for the quiz on Friday: you MUST know which case each preposition takes, either accusative or ablative. Don’t forget your Vocabulary/Grammar Drill sheets.

    Lingua Latina II for October 28th

    Greetings discipulae! I trust you worked hard on Friday 🙂 For this Friday please finish Pensa A & B and study Chapter IV grammar notes (sheets I gave you). Your quiz this Friday will be on the 3rd person singular and plural passive ending,  the prepositions that take the accusative (you must know what they mean!), the 3 ways to express “where”, and the 4 vocabulary words at the end of the 2nd sheet.     Latina Christiana II for October 28th

    Hello discipuli!  I hope you had a great week.  A big thank you to Mrs. McGill and Hannah for teaching our class last Friday! For this Friday please complete Lesson 9 workbook exercises except Exercise B, page 40 (We’ll do those in class together).  Also,  please do 3 days worth of the vocabulary/grammar drill sheets. (If I forgot to give these out, you can do them on your own paper for extra credit 🙂  I’ll get back to passing them out this Friday! Don’t forget to study for your quiz, and remember, Repetitio mater studiorum.

    Latina Christiana II for October 21st

    Finish Lesson 8 except Exercise B, page 36. I forgot to hand out the Vocabulary/Grammar Drill sheets in class Friday.  If you write your words and saying 3 times, and the grammar concept on page 34 three times on your own paper, I’ll give you 5 extra points on the quiz!  Make sure to turn these in to Mrs. McGill or Hannah; I will not be at school next Friday.  You will be watching a Latin teacher on a DVD, so make sure to pay close attention 🙂 Have a great week!
