Latina Christiana II for January 20th
Hello class, This week is Review III! Make sure to know everything on page 68 and complete page 69. Know the 1st and 2nd regular principal part endings. Be able to put any of your 1st and 2nd conjugation verbs into their four principal parts. Know the irregular principal parts of “pono, do, sto & mitto”. Know “sum” in the present, imperfect, and future tenses AND WHAT THEY MEAN. Be able to conjugate “‘rego” in the 3rd conjugation. Know all four Latin sayings. YOU WILL HAVE TO GIVE THE LATIN on the sayings and vocabulary! Finally, there will be four translation sentences for bonus credit.

Lingua Latina II for January 20th
Hello class, This will be a light week. Clair and Megan, If you haven’t finished translating chapter IX, please do that. Quiz for Friday: Know the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd declensions found in the grammar section of chapter IX. Only the 3rd declension is new. REMEMBER to memorize the charts in the follow order: Nominative, Genetive, Dative, Accusative, & Ablative. You might want to copy the chart in the correct order on your own paper or flashcard.

Lingua Latina II for January 13th
Finish translating Lingua Latina, capitulum IX. Quiz for Friday: Lingua Latina, capitulum IX vocabula, pages 68 (campo – niger). That is about 25 words. I’ll give you the Latin, you give me the English. Parents will be receiving email before next Friday with your semester averages. Also, I’ll be handing out all past quizzes/tests. I’m sorry for the delay on this; I misplaced my grade book!

Finish Lesson XV for Friday except what we do in class, Exercise B, page 66. Quiz for Friday: Lesson XV vocabulary, Latin saying, and be able to conjugate any of this week’s vocabulary in the imperfect tense. You should receive an email invitation to practice with Quizlet by Saturday night. Also, this past Friday marked the end of our first semester. Parents will be receiving semester averages by email before next Friday, and I will send home all quizzes/tests taken to date. I’m sorry for the delay on this; I misplaced my grade book!

Lingua Latina II for January 6th
Welcome to 2017! I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and are ready to dive back into Latin! For Friday study Visual Latin Lesson 15 and review the relative pronoun chart on page 67. Quiz on the relative pronoun chart on Friday. We will start the sentence translations and Bible story translation in class on Friday. PLEASE take this time to nail down the relative pronouns and how they are used.

Welcome back to school! I hope everyone had a blessed Christmas and is looking forward to a wonderful New Year! For Friday please complete Lesson 14 except EXERCISE B on page 62. We’ll do that in class. For Lesson 14’s quiz, know your vocabulary (3rd conjugation verbs), this week’s Latin saying (Credo in Unum Deum), and the conjugation for 3rd conjugation verbs. You will be asked to conjugate two of your vocabulary words with the new 3rd conjugation endings. Looking forward to Latin in the New Year!

Latina Christiana II for December 9th
I can almost hear the jingle bells ringing! For Friday, complete Lesson 13 except for Exercise B on page 58 – which we will do in class. Make sure as your memorize your new 2nd conjugation vocabulary verbs to learn ALL FOUR principle parts. Principle parts endings for 2nd conjugation verbs are “eo,” “ére,” “ui,” and “itus.” Don’t forget the accent mark on the 2nd principle part. I’ll have all principle parts listed on Quizlet by Sunday evening. If you don’t get an email invitation to Quizlet, let me know. Quiz for Friday: This week’s Latin saying, vocabulary, and conjugating two verbs in the present and/or imperfect tenses.

Welcome to December! I know you have a great deal due in other classes for December 2nd, so I’ll make your assignment as light as possible. Finish translating chapter 8. There isn’t much left. Quiz for Friday: Grammar chart on the Relative pronoun “qui, quae, quod” and vocabulary words: campus, I (m.) through clamor, oris (m.). I will give you the Latin. Have a blessed Thanksgiving!
