Lingua Latina II for March 3rd
Your only homework is to study for this week’s quiz which is the first 25 words on the Chapter XI Vocabulary sheet I handed out. I’ll give you the Latin; you will give me the English. ALSO on the quiz: you will need to decline corpus, corporis; fumen, fluminis; mare, maris; and animal, animalis. You can find their declensions on the Chapter XI study sheet I gave you on Friday. Just to be clear, for corpus, corpora you will have to put nom. corpus corpora gen. corporis corporum dat. corpori corporibus acc. corpus corpora abl. corpore corporibus

Finish Lesson XX. This is the last lesson before our Unit Review, so if you have extra time, you might want to start looking over the vocabulary, grammar, and Latin sayings on page 90. These will be covered in class on Friday, however. Quiz for Friday: Know the Latin saying and vocabulary from Lesson XX and be able to decline civis.

It’s almost winter break; stay strong! Continue translating Lingua Latina chapter X through line 100. Quiz for Friday: Vocabulary from Chapter X handout -“aer” through “ovum” (NOUNS ONLY). You must know the nominative, genitive, and the gender. I’ll be giving you the English.

It’s almost winter break; stay strong! For Friday, finish Lesson XVIII except for Exercise B on page 80. We’ll do that in class together. Quiz for Friday: Know your Latin saying and vocabulary. KNOW your new 3rd declension endings. Be able to decline mos, moris. That is – mos, moris, mori, morem, more, mores, morum, moribus, mores, moribus.

Finish lesson XVII – There isn’t much left; we were able to get so much done in class this week! Don’t forget to complete your vocabulary and grammar drill sheet. Lesson XVII quiz Friday. As always, know your saying and vocabulary. Also, be able to conjugate punio and sentio in the imperfect tense. These verbs are 4th conjugation verbs. Remember: stem – “ie” – regular imperfect ending. Example: I was feeling – sent ie bam. Keep up the good work!
