This week is a review week for 3rd declension.  Begin working through Lesson XXIV. Your quiz this week will be on the 3rd declension chart on page 62 and the vocabulary.  This is ALL review.  Make sure you know the full definition form for each vocabulary word.  For example:  heart, cor, cordis, n. Parents, I will be emailing 1st quarter grades this week. Finally, Macte hac Gloria! to Asa for winning the review game last Friday! You will receive your praemium on Friday!!!

I’m posting this early in case anyone wants or needs to get a head start on his/her school assignments.  But, otherwise, have a wonderful fall break! Workbook exercises for XXIII are due on the 25th. Study Lesson XXIII AND VIII for the quiz on the 25th. Remember – Nil desperandum      

This is our first week of Lesson XXIII, ergo start on the workbook pages for Lesson XXIII, but they are not due until October 25th.  For your quiz this Friday, be prepared to write the third declension neuter chart from scratch, ex nihilo.  Also, the rest of the quiz will be taken from Lesson VII about Principal Parts.  Know what the four PPs are, how to form them, and the four irregular PPs for the verbs on page 25. Remember, per aspera ad astra  you can achieve great things!

This is our 2nd week on Lesson XXII, ergo finish the workbook pages and study for a quiz. The quiz will include all of Lesson XXII and Lesson V.

For this week, study Lesson XXII and work on the exercises. You do not need to finish these this week. Your quiz for Friday will consist of the third declension chart on page 58. You will need to be able to duplicate this from scratch, or dare I say “ex nihilo!” Also, ANYTHING from Lesson IV could be included on the quiz. Remember, you will only have 10 minutes to take the quiz. Study thoroughly! Finally, if a parent is reading this, please (if possible) have your child read this assignment also.  I’m consistently hearing reports of students not knowing the full assignment. Thank you!

This week we continue with Lesson XXI. Complete the workbook exercises for XXI and study for the quiz on Friday.  Make sure you know the Latin saying, the grammar chart, and the vocabulary for XXI.  Remember you will need to put the full nominative and genitive as well as the gender for each noun. On each quiz there will also be a review portion from 2 previous lessons, this week it will be Lesson I & II. I continue to be well please with how all my students are doing with the review.  We start new material this week, but we will never stop reviewing, so there will always be a review aspect to your homework. This week, you will need to review pages 36 and 37 (Units I & II Review) for a review test (more like a quiz, but with a test grade) on Friday. This will include 10 vocabulary words (I will give you the English, and you will give me the Latin.), all four charts and page 36,  and six Laying sayings (I will give the Latin sayings in Latin with one or…

Below is a link to the homework for this week.  Please print it out, complete it neatly, and bring it to class on Friday. We will exchange papers and grade these in class.  It will be for a grade, but it is open book. Remember, if your writing is illegible, then your answer is wrong! Let me just say how pleased I am with how prepared you ALL were on Friday!  Keep up the excellent work! For this week, commit to memory Lesson XIII (Units I & II Review).  Remember, you should be able to give the 4 principal parts for every verb and conjugate each 1st conjugation verb in all 6 tenses.  Don’t forget the all important verb – sum, esse, fui, futurus.
