    This week we start Unit V, Lesson XXIX!  This is the last unit of First Form Latin!!! Stay the course and finish well. This week, start working on the workbook exercises for Lesson XXIX.  For the quiz memorize, the second conjugation, present tense chart on page 74 of the textbook and the Latin saying. You should recognize the second verb in the saying (Insert smile here!) Also, on your quiz will be the first conjugation, present tense chart from Lesson I on page 10.  With every new part of second conjugation we learn, we will be reviewing its first conjugation counterpart.  And remember, noli deficere!     We are on Lesson XXVIII.  This is a review lesson for Units III & IV.  Start the workbook exercises this week; they will be due on the 21st. This Friday’s quiz will cover the charts on page 70 and the 1st column of  vocabulary on page 71. For the bonus, tell me in Roman numerals what 2 Super Bowls have been won by the Kansas City Chiefs.

    We have come to another review lesson, Lesson XXVII. This week the quiz will be on just the charts on page 68 of the instruction book. The following week’s quiz will be on the vocabulary and sayings. on page 69. Go ahead and do worksheet 1 and 3 of Lesson XXVII this week. When you say your prayers, remember:  “Pater Noster, Qui es in Caelis”

    This week finish Lesson XXVI workbook pages and review the lesson for the quiz.  You will be quizzed on the chart (exactly like the last quiz) and you will need to be able to put the vocabulary in any form asked, such as:  faith (gen/pl) = fiderum.  Also, your bonus will come from the answers to workbook page 138, section IV.  I’ll give you the English to one of the translations, and you will give me the Latin.     Happy New Year!  I want to start by telling you how overwhelmed and grateful I am at the outpouring of love that you showed to me on the last Friday before break.  Thank you for all the wonderful goodies!  I so enjoyed hearing you sing Adeste Fideles in both Latin and English.  If fact, at one point I almost lost track of what I was playing because I was paying so much attention to your sweet voices!     First Form Latin, Year 2 for December 13th

    One last week!!! This week, prepare for a vocabulary review quiz on Lessons XXI -XXV.  This covers all 3rd and 4th declension nouns you have had. There will be no charts, just straight vocabulary.  I will give you the English, and you will give me the Latin in COMPLETE dictionary form. The bonus will be all the Latin sayings from Lessons XXI-XXV.  They are worth 1 point a piece for a total of 5 bonus points.  They must be perfect (spelling and word order) to receive credit.     This week we started learning the 4th declension in Lesson XXV.  Begin working on the workbook pages; they are not due until the 22nd.  Your quiz this week will be over the 4th declension chart and the vocabulary, as well as this week’s saying, Senatus Populusque Romanus. Make sure you don’t just say you’ll study, but actually do it – “Acta non verba.” See you Friday!
