    Lingua Latina (8:50-9:40) for November 13th

    Do Visual Latin, Lesson 15, Translation sentences 1-15 on pages 70-71 & the 1st 2 paragraphs of the Bible story translation on page 72.  We will be spending 2 weeks on this lesson. Quiz for Friday:  Relative Pronoun Chart on page 67.  I’ll give you the English, you’ll give me the Latin.  Bonus can be earned by boxing the 3 differences and being able to tell me what those differences are between the Relative Pronoun Chart and the Interrogative Pronoun Chart (found on page 58)!

    Lingua Latina (Advanced) for November 13th

    Finish Visual Latin, Lesson 24. Quiz for Friday:  Learn the Possessive Pronoun Charts on pages 128-129.  For time’s sake you will only be tested on Nominative, Singular & Plural of all 4 charts.  Please, though, learn the entire charts! Re-read Lingua Latina, Chapter 4 in Latin Only.  Do Pensi B & C.  We will go over these in class.

    Visual Latin, Lesson 14 exercises are already completed. Quiz for Friday:  The PLURAL side of the Interrogative Pronoun Chart on page 58.  I’ll give you the English, you give me the Latin.  Also, Vocabulary for the quiz:  iratus, a, um – angry; ad – toward; ibi – there; ovis, ovis, f. – sheep; silva, ae f. – forest; tristis, e – sad; vivo, vivere – to live; vox, vocis f. – voice; unus, a, um – one; duo – two.  Remember to write the Latin EXACTLY as it is here!

    Finish Visual Latin, Lesson 23. Quiz for Friday:  Repeat of Interrogative / Relative Pronoun Charts.  Remember that there are only 3 exceptions in order to make the Interrogative chart into the Relative Chart!  I WILL test you on the 3 differences. Finish reading Lingua Latina, Chapter 4.

    Study Visual Latin, Lesson 14 and complete the Bible story translation. Quiz for Friday:  Interrogative Pronoun Chart on page 58 (SINGULAR side only!).  I’ll give the English, you’ll give the Latin. Also on quiz: Vocabulary:  Agricola, ae m. – farmer; campus, i m. – field or level area; defendo, defendere – to defend; fero, ferre – to carry, to bear; ferus, a, um – wild; filius, i m. – son; germanus, i m. – brother; impero, imperare- to command; laboro, laborare – to work; lupus, i m. – wolf  (Make sure you are able to write down the Latin just the way it is here.)

    Finish Visual Latin, Lesson 13 Quiz for Friday:  Prepositions that take the Ablative Case.  They are:  sine, in, de, prae, sub, pro, a (ab), cum, e (ex).  I’ll give you the English; you’ll give me the Latin.  Also, 5 vocabulary words from lesson 13.  They are:  custodio, custodire – to guard, protect; inimicus, i m. – enemy; porta, ae f. – door, gate; rursus – turned back, again; tuus, a, um – your.  I’ll give you the English; you MUST give me the Latin exactly as it is given here or in your book.  DON’T leave any part out.
