If you didn’t show me your work for Visual Latin, Lesson 18 last Friday (Josie Kate is the ONLY one who did.) please do so this Friday. It is a quiz grade. No new work in Visual Latin this week. Finish Pensa A, B, & C of Lingua Latina, Chapter 1 starting on page 11. Make sure you bring your Visual Latin binder, Lingua Latina textbook, AND a notebook to write your exercises for the Lingua Latina book.

Lingua Latina (Advanced) for January 15th
Finish Visual Latin, Lesson 28 Finish Pensam A, B, & C for Lingua Latina, Chapter 6 Quiz for Friday: 3rd Declension Adjectives. You must give the appropriate forms for each adjective. Some will have 3 forms, 2 forms, or 1 form. The adjectives are: celer, celeris, celere; acer, acris, acre; celeber, celebris, celebre; omnis, omne; brevis, breve; gravis, grave; tristis, triste; ferox, ferocis; felix, felicis; audax, audacis; sapiens, sapientis. I’ll give you the English; you will give me the appropriate forms above.

Merry Christmas! Finish Visual Latin, Lesson 17. Quiz for Friday: The first two charts on page 85. I’ll give you the English pronouns, you’ll give me the Active and Passive Present Endings. Please bring your Lingua Latina Text Book on Friday. We will be looking at the first chapter!

Finish Visual Latin, Lesson 26. Quiz for Friday: Verbs on page 145. Be able to give the first and second principle parts of the verbs. For example, I’ll give you “to love” and you will give me “amo, amare”. There is NO assignment in the Lingua Latina Text. Merry Christmas!

Happy Thanksgiving! We are taking 2 weeks for Lesson 16. Do 14 -30 on pages 77-78 of Visual Latin. Translate the 1st 4 paragraphs on pages 79-80. Study and memorize the Accusative Prepositions on VL page 74. They are your quiz for December 4th. Review Ablative Prepositions on VL page 51. You will be requizzed on these on December 11th. Happy Thanksgiving! You have completed Visual Latin, Lesson 25. Re-read Lingua Latina, Chapter 5 in Latin ONLY. Take it slowly enough to grasp the meaning. Complete Pensi A, B, & C of Lingua Latina, Chapter 5. We almost completed Pensum A in class. Quiz for December 4th: 3rd Declension i-stem Noun Chart on page 138 of your Visual Latin binder and the last 16 vocabulary words on page 136. Have a grateful, restful, and FUN break! As we discussed in class, we are taking two weeks to complete Lesson 15. We finished the book work in class Friday, so for homework you will be studying for a quiz. Quiz for Friday: There will be a repeat of the Relative Pronoun Chart on page 67. Also, there will be 10 vocabulary words. Remember – you must give the full form of the Latin word as you have been taught. As we discussed in class, we are taking two weeks to complete Visual Latin, Lesson 25. So for this week, complete Visual Latin, Lesson 25, Section B, 1-10. (Some of this was completed in class.) Also, translate the first 2 paragraphs of the 25c, Bible translation. Finish translating Lingua Latina, Chapter 5. Quiz for Friday: 3rd declension noun ending on page 135. Also, the first 15 vocabulary words on page 136. You MUST be able to give me the nominative & genitive singular, along with the gender (M, F, or N). Friday afternoon begins your Thanksgiving break!
