What is due in Pre-Alg on 3/21
Hi, The grades from the test on Ch. 2 are 2 As, 4Bs, 1 D and 2 Fs. I would like to see these grades higher! I am going to assign a few more problems from ch. 2. Algebra builds on concepts learned and we don’t want a shaky foundation, so be sure that you check your answers to these as you are working them, and LET ME KNOW if you are getting several wrong. I will be glad to help you over the phone or at an outside of class tutoring session. In class, you seem to be getting the concepts, but the test showed that some of you…

pre-algebra due on 2/28
Hello all, Quiz this Friday on the rules for adding/subtracting, multiplying and dividing signed numbers. Test on Chapter 2 on March 3. Below are the rules you should be able to write. You do not have to give me examples. 1)When adding/subtracting and the signs on the numbers are the SAME – you add and use the sign of the numbers used in the problem Ex. 7+3.5= 10.5 Ex. -5 + -8 = -13 Ex. -18-12 = -30 Ex. 14.5+17.2 = 31.7 2)When adding /subtracting and the signs are DIFFERENT – you subtract the numbers and use the sign of the largest number in the answer Ex. 9 -5 =…

Algebra I due on 2/28
Hello, Reminder that we have a test on Chapter 9 on March 3. Homework for this week: Section 2.7 p. 434 1 a and b, 2, 6a, 7b,c,d, 8 and 9a p. 440 set II, 1,2,3,6,7,8,9,11 Most of these problems are set II and you should check your answers as you are working them. I would suggest that you work a few problems a day instead of all of them on Thursday. I found a video on Khan Academy on long division of polynomials. https://www.khanacademy.org/math/trigonometry/polynomial_and_rational/dividing_polynomials/v/dividing-polynomials-1 If you need additional problems or have questions, please let me know, Mrs. A

Alg I due on 2/21
We will have a test on chapter 9 on 3/3. Homework for this week: p. 410 10 and 11(these are the adding and subtracting problems shown vertically)BE SURE to change the signs on all the terms of the second polynomial when you are subtracting. You can do all adding and subtracting polynomials vertically or horizontally – it is your choice. P. 410 13, 14 and 15 The answers to these are not in the back of the book , so I will attempt to answer them at the bottom of this email. It is impossible to type an x squared on my keyboard, so answering these will be somewhat of…

Pre-algebra due on 2/14
p.. 70 section 2.3 2, 7-63 odd, 74, 79-85 odd p. 77 section 2.4 1- 63 odd, 72, 81 and 83 Do not use a calculator on these and check your answers as you are working them. It is very important that you understand these 2 sections , as much of the algebra that you will do in the future will use this material. If you don’t understand any of these, you need to try and get help. I sent out a link a couple of weeks ago from Khan Academy with videos of how to do these.
