    Latina Christiana II for September 30th

    We are almost finished with the review lessons, and each of you have hung in there magnificently!  Keep up the good work! For Friday, please complete Lesson V worksheets.  This lesson was on 1st/2nd declension  adjectives.  Which means that each of these adjectives can be declined to match its noun in THIRTY different ways!  You need to know how to fully decline each adjective.  Don’t forget the adverbs, prepositions, and conjunctions.     I am very proud of your quiz grades from Friday.  Keep up the good work! Finish exercises for Lesson 4. Quiz for Friday:  Lesson 4, page 16.  BE VERY CAREFUL memorizing, or rememorizing, these 3rd declension nouns.  There are often stem changes between the nominative and genitive forms, and you MUST KNOW BOTH.  You will not be quizzed on the constellations.  Don’t forget your numbers and Latin sayings. You can also practice this week’s vocabulary on Quizlet. Have a great week!

    Good job on class Friday! Finish Pensa for Chapter III. Study for Grammar Forms Quiz:  1st, 2nd, & 3rd declension noun endings and how to use them.  And . . . 1st conjugation verb endings and how to use them. Example:  1st declension endings:  a, ae, ae, am, a, ae, arum, is, as, is.  Noun using it:  mensa, mensae, mensae, mensam, mensa, mensae, mensarum, mensis, mensas, mensis.  1st conjugation endings:  o, s, t, mus, tis, nt.  Verb using it:  voco, vocas, vocat, vocamus, vocatis, vocant.

    Sept. 20, 2017 NOTE: Given the amount of work in all the section reviews as well as the questions about the various parts of the Constitution, we will NOT require that students complete anything but the Chapter Review questions this week. In addition, for the remainder of the semester students need not answer the Section Review questions as required homework, although reading and thinking through those questions will prove helpful in the long run. The only required assignments will be the Chapter Review questions.     Swimming Creatures

    Your child should have the Test for Chapter 1 in his/her notebook.  I recommend taking it before starting the next chapter.  But it’s up to you.  You may also decide if you would like it to be open book or not.  I didn’t realize we had so many with learning disabilities and/or difficulty spelling.  I will try to make the future tests include more multiple choice, or at least have a word bank.  Don’t stress if this one seems too hard for your child.  Please turn in the tests on Friday.  This will keep us moving along at a good pace.
