Please finish Shurley Grammar chapter 17 (2nd half of vocabulary, rest of practice sentences, and the test). Remember, our composition is our Classical Composition book, so there is no need to do the Shurley Grammar writing assignment in lesson 5. Classical Composition lesson 2:  We finished the three plot components and the outline in class. (Thank you, Heather Brandon, for helping out!)  Please complete variations part 1 on page 14 and the paraphrases on page 16.

We almost finished the outline on page 11 in Classical Composition I.  Just work on finishing the rest of Lesson 1.  We will not doing any work in Shurley English this week.

We started Chapter 16 in class Friday.  Please finish this week’s vocabulary, practice sentences, and test.  Do not do lesson 5.  Your writing assignment is in your Classical Composition I (Fable Stage) book. We will take 3 weeks to complete this first lesson. In class I read the lesson 1 fable to the students.  They each repeated the story in their own words.  We began to write down some vocabulary and definitions that will help them understand the fable better.  The students need to finish these vocabulary words (disdainfully, ascend, boast, borne, aloft). Welcome to 2018! We began Chapter 15 in our last meeting. Please finish chapter 15 except there is NO essay assignment this week. Please bring your Classical Composition 1 to class this Friday. We will be transitioning to this book for our writing assignments!

Almost Christmas!!! Nate, we missed you. I hope you’re not sick! We covered Chapter 14, Lesson 1.  Please finish Lessons 2-5 which includes the second set of vocabulary, practice sentences, test, and the essay.  The essay instructions are on page 259 of the teacher’s manual.  It is Writing Assignment Box #1.  Your topic choices for your 5-paragraph persuasive essay are “Why Good Manners are Important” or “Why We Need Smoke-Free Restaurants.”
