    It’s almost winter break; stay strong! Continue translating Lingua Latina chapter X through line 100. Quiz for Friday:  Vocabulary from Chapter X handout -“aer” through “ovum” (NOUNS ONLY).  You must know the nominative, genitive, and the gender.  I’ll be giving you the English.

    It’s almost winter break; stay strong! For Friday, finish Lesson XVIII except for Exercise B on page 80.  We’ll do that in class together. Quiz for Friday:  Know your Latin saying and vocabulary.  KNOW your new 3rd declension endings.  Be able to decline mos, moris.  That is – mos, moris, mori, morem, more, mores, morum, moribus, mores, moribus.

    Lingua Latina II for February 3rd

    Your only assignment for this week is to study until you KNOW the last half of the vocabulary in Visual Latin 25 and the I-stem chart in that lesson.  Just like last week, I’ll give you the English, and you’ll give me the Nom. Sing, Gen. Sing, and the Gender.  EACH part is very important. See you Friday!

    Latina Christiana II for February 3rd

    Finish lesson XVII – There isn’t much left; we were able to get so much done in class this week!  Don’t forget to complete your vocabulary and grammar drill sheet. Lesson XVII quiz Friday.  As always, know your saying and vocabulary.  Also,  be able to conjugate punio and sentio in the imperfect tense.  These verbs are 4th conjugation verbs.  Remember:  stem – “ie” – regular imperfect ending.  Example:  I was feeling – sent ie bam. Keep up the good work!

    Finish Visual Latin Lesson 25. Quiz for Friday:  Vocabulary “lux” through “dolor” on page 2 of Lesson 25.  Remember:  I’ll give you the English, and you must give the nominative and genitive singular along with the gender.  For example:  light:  lux, lucis f.

    For Friday complete Lesson XVI, except Exercise B, page 72.  We will do that in class together. Quiz for Friday:  Know your vocabulary and saying and be able to conjugate all of this week’s fourth conjugation verbs in the present tense.

    Latina Christiana II for January 20th

    Hello class,  This week is Review III!  Make sure to know everything on page 68 and complete page 69. Know the 1st and 2nd regular principal part endings. Be able to put any of your 1st and 2nd conjugation verbs into their four principal parts.  Know the irregular principal parts of “pono, do, sto & mitto”.  Know “sum” in the present, imperfect, and future tenses AND WHAT THEY MEAN.  Be able to conjugate “‘rego” in the 3rd conjugation.  Know all four Latin sayings.  YOU WILL HAVE TO GIVE THE LATIN on the sayings and vocabulary!  Finally, there will be four translation sentences for bonus credit.

    Lingua Latina II for January 20th

    Hello class,  This will be a light week.  Clair and Megan, If you haven’t finished translating chapter IX, please do that. Quiz for Friday:  Know the 1st, 2nd, & 3rd declensions found in the grammar section of chapter IX.  Only the 3rd declension is new.  REMEMBER to memorize the charts in the follow order: Nominative, Genetive, Dative, Accusative, & Ablative. You might want to copy the chart in the correct order on your own paper or flashcard.
