Note: Babylon fell to Persia in 529 B.C. King Darius lays claim to Greek city-states, but they rebel. He attempts to crush them- leading to the Persian Wars.

490 B.C.- the Battle of Marathon

 

King Xerxes’ invasion of Greece in 480 B.C. was unsuccessful. He went home, threw a party to which his wife would not come; so, he searched for a new wife. Esther became queen.
